Price also varies by time of day, reflecting the size and type of audience delivered by programmes. The day is divided into timed ‘dayparts’. The highest audience, and often the highest price, is usually in ‘peak time’ (17:30-23:30).

Early peak 17:30-20:00
Late peak 20:01-23:30
Night time 23:31-05:59
The cheaper dayparts are those of daytime and post peak, offering excellent value and are often taken up by direct response advertisers, due to the strong response rates.
