Meridian

Meridian is part of the South-East macro region, together with Anglia. The Meridian region is also divided into four micro regions: Thames Valley, South Coast, Sussex and Kent. Five key facts about the region

  • This is Britain’s ‘gateway’ region, easily accessible from the continent via the Kentish ports or the Channel Tunnel
  • Southampton is the major centre for business, culture, recreation and retail in the south of England. Its historic port handles 7% of the UK’s seaborne trade.
