If you're a member of the press and you need information about forthcoming ITV programmes, the Press Centre should be your first port of call. The site includes programme news for the next few weeks, as well as press releases and press packs on major shows, and registering to use it is simple and free.

You’ll find weekly and monthly viewing summaries here, as well as a range of TV-related facts and statistics. You have to subscribe to access some of the more detailed information, but plenty of useful stuff is freely available.

Clearcastwww.clearcast.co.uk
Clearcast is the company responsible for the pre-transmission examination and clearance of television advertisements. As part of their licensing agreements with Ofcom, broadcasters are required to clear advertising before it's broadcast and advertisements transmitted on UK terrestrial and satellite channels should be submitted to Clearcast for approval.

Ofcom is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries. The ‘Broadcasting – TV’ section contains practical info about the technical and legal aspects of television broadcasting. The site also includes research and market data.

The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising is the trade body for 250 leading agencies in advertising, media and marketing communications. Its website is a useful information resource for anyone in those industries.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing site has lots of information for marketing professionals. In particular, the ‘Knowledge Hub’ contains articles and abstracts from business journals, case studies, market reports and profiles of the world’s top companies.
