The Prisoner at the BFI
In 2009 ITV STUDIOS co-produced a six part reinvention of the 1960’s cult classic, The Prisoner. With a strong international cast, including Jim Caviezel and Ian McKellen, ITV, alongside Aviva the sponsors of Drama Premieres, gave the public an exclusive opportunity to watch the first episode prior to its UK transmission on the 17th April 2010.
In addition to this event ITV wanted to highlight and celebrate with Aviva, sponsor of ITV1 Drama Premieres, brand activation surrounding their sponsorship package. Aviva used this opportunity to bring their key stakeholders closer to The Prisoner, one of ITV’s key titles.
Renowned for attracting TV and film enthusiasts, ITV were approached by The British Film Institute (BFI) to host an evening dedicated to the reinvention, which was sponsored by Aviva. Not only were those attending able to meet and greet the stars of the show, view the first episode screened in HD on the big screen, but they were also treated to a lively Q&A session chaired by Matthew Sweet, with a panel including Jim Caviezel, Hayley Atwell and director Nick Hurran.
The audience was a mixture of ITV Executives and Commissioners, Aviva Executives, Stakeholders and VIP competition winners and Film & TV enthusiasts from the general public.
The evening was a success for all those who attended and the talent added that extra touch.
We were granted an interview with Jim Caviezel which you can watch on the right hand side as he talks about The Prisoner.
