Thurday's Ratings

Thursday 12th April

ITV1 won in peak time last night with an average audience of 5.4 million viewers and a 24% share of the viewing.

This compared to the 4.1 million viewers and 18% share for BBC ONE across the evening peak time slot.  

As usual the soaps dominated the viewing on Thursday night with Coronation Street on ITV1 leading the way achieving an average audience of 8.1million viewers and a share of 33%.

EastEnders came in second place on BBC ONE at 19:30 with an average audience of 7.9 million viewers and a share of 36%, followed by Emmerdale on ITV1, which took the third and fourth rankings in the top programmes for yesterday.

Emmerdale at 20:00 achieved an average audience of 7.2m viewers with a 31% share and its earlier episode at 19:00 averaged 6.7 million viewers with a 33% share.

New series of Long Lost Family on ITV1 at 21:00, achieved it’s best ever episode performance and attracted a bigger audience compared to last year’s first episode.

The programme achieved an average audience of 5.1 million viewers and a 23% share (c.f. 1st episode for 2011 series- 4.8m/22%).
