Peak time summary:
ITV1
- The penultimate episode of Downton Abbey generated 1.7m viewers in timeshift viewing. This is on par with the average catch-up (timeshift) audience we are used to seeing for Downton. The consolidated audience was boosted to 12.3m viewers and a 40% share – the timeshift made up 15% of this consolidated total.
- Episode four of Doc Martin took its biggest timeshift audience of the series yet - adding a huge 1.6m viewers who watched via a recordable device after the day of transmission. Once this catch-up viewing audience was added in, the consolidated audience was boosted from 9.3m to 10.9m viewers and a 37% share – the biggest volume of the series.
Youngest programme of the week: The X Factor - 39 years (-13 years under YTD avg of 52)
Oldest programme of the week: Midsomer Murders- 59 years (+7 years on YTD avg of 52)
ITV2
- Vampire Diaries fans are keen to record the popular US drama. A huge 38% of its consolidated audience came from timeshifted viewing! Diaries drew just under 650K viewers in overnights figures, however once timeshift viewing was added, the audience rose to 1.0m viewers and a 3.7% share (7.5% of 16-34s).
- Another US drama with a strong following, Gossip Girl returned to ITV2 and was the youngest programme in the schedule with an average age of 32 years. 23% of the audience generated from timeshift viewing. Though as the audience is small this consisted of 70,000 timeshift viewers boosting the consolidated audience to 301,000 and a 1.2% share (3.6% of 16-34 Adults).
- The most timeshifted ITV2 programme of the week was Celebrity Juice, which added 399,000 viewers to give a consolidated audience of 1.6m and a 9.1% share (17.2% of 16-34s).
ITV3
- 87,000 viewers caught up with Lewis in timeshift viewing. This raised the consolidated audience to 472,000 viewers and a 3.1% share.
- Foyle’s War drew the biggest audience to ITV3 that week with a consolidated audience of 1.1m viewers. However only 5% of the audience recorded to watch another day.
Youngest programme of the week: Mr Bean & The Best of Mr Bean – 38 years (-23 years under YTD avg of 61)
Oldest programme of the week: Wycliffe - 67 years (+6 years on YTD avg of 61)
ITV4
- Send in the Dogs gained 30,000 timeshift viewers, raising the consolidated audience to 208,000 and a 0.8% share (1.1% of Men).
Youngest programme of the week: Film: The Blues Brothers – 41 years (-9 years under YTD avg of 50)
Oldest programme of the week: Minder - 57 years (+7 years on YTD avg of 50)
