CiTV show wins two awards

CiTV children’s show, Green Up Your Life, has scooped two major prizes. The show and its associated campaign won the Ethical Marketing category in the Marketing Society Awards, and also scooped Best Use of Sponsorship or Content in the separate Thinkbox TV Planning Awards.
Green Up Your Life was an advertiser-funded show developed by British Gas, Endemol and ITV Commercial. The 10-episode series featured three teams of ‘Eco-Ranger’ kids who competed against each other to complete a different environmental challenge each day.
Each show also featured lots of child-friendly eco advice and drove viewers to the CiTV website, where they could find out more about green issues by playing the Eco-ranger game.
The show was part of British Gas’s campaign to promote environmental awareness and the fact that it has the lowest carbon emissions of any of the major energy companies. Ads for the campaign were also carried during some of ITV1’s family-oriented programming, including The X Factor and The Pride Of Britain Awards.
