The education sector is facing a particularly difficult time right now, as it strives to support the next generation across all parts of society. We believe British universities need an extra helping hand, at a time when they most need to market themselves to prospective students and their families.

So, we’ve created a more affordable and tailored way for universities to advertise, to help them through the challenges of Coronavirus: ITV Freshers’ Package.

For universities wanting to advertise on ITV in June and July, we’re offering cost-effective advertising across spot airtime and online video on demand (VOD) with free creative production support (up to £500).

Flexibility From being able to book late to using 1 of 15 regions, or going fully national

Example Freshers package:

  • Airtime targeted to our young adult targeted channel ITV2 (running nationally) as well ITV main channel (from one or more of our 15 regions)

  • All spot airtime packages based on running during ITV daytime until 5pm in June / July 2020

  • All VOD packages based on contextual targeting of programmes that index highly for prospective students across ITV Hub

  • Example package costs on a weekly basis can run across multiple weeks in June / July 2020 with a 30” ad across spot airtime and VOD

  • Something for every budget – for example (all costs are gross – based on June 2020):

    • £10,000: over 3m impacts across ITV2, ITV main channel (Yorkshire) and ITV Hub

    • £20,000: over 5m impacts across ITV2, ITV main channel (Midwest – Central, Wales & West Country) and ITV Hub

    • £35,000 : over 7m impacts across ITV2, ITV main channel (London, Central, Meridian – South East) and ITV Hub

Creative production support

Our creative production team will make your university ad for free up to the value of £500, based on minimum media spend of £10,000. As our showreel demonstrates, this can include elements of the following in a range of styles and formats: stock footage, text and graphics, voiceover, music, photos, repurposing existing material.

In addition, we will do animatics, storyboard, scripting, Clearcast approval and delivery for transmission free of charge to support you. Please note that costs for all these elements can vary (e.g. regional v national usage costs for voiceover and music), so we can discuss alternative cost-effective solutions with you if needed. Any production costs over £500 would be paid by the university

Other considerations:


  • Airtime will not go towards satisfying existing or future share or volume commitments

  • ITV main channel campaigns will include ITV plc regions only with exception of network campaigns

  • Available for June and July campaigns only, with a finite amount of airtime available on a first come first served basis for universities committing investment

  • This offer is open to universities directly, as well as through their agencies
