ITV has just announced a packed autumn schedule with brand new shows across Entertainment, Drama, Factual and Daytime.  ITV’s Director of Television Kevin Lygo said: “We kept Coronation Street and Emmerdale on air during the past few months, our Daytime has never performed better and we had brand new entertainment shows on a Saturday, every week.  Now is the time to look forward to the autumn.   ITV has some fantastic new programmes - from brand new drama, to both new and long established entertainment to trailblazing factual - all of which we are delighted to present and continue to keep the nation entertained.”

Don’t Rock The Boat (South Shore) is a brand new series which sees 12 celebrities row from Lands End to John O’Groats in two boats. Hosted by AJ Odudu and Freddie Flintoff, the show promises action and adventure as two teams compete against each other in the race of a lifetime.
 

Following Catchphrase (STV Productions) and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (Stellify Media) into the studio, The Million Pound Cube (Wildcard) returns with Philip Schofield at the helm – the pressure of the cube is ramped up this time around as, for the first time, teams of two can win up to £1 million in the ultimate test of nerve and skill.
 

Family Fortunes (Thames, part of Fremantle) makes a welcome return with Gino D’Acampo hosting; and The Chase (Potato) will also go back into production for a new series in autumn 2020.  Supermarket Sweep (Thames, part of Fremantle) also returns to the studio for another series, this time making the move from ITV2 to ITV daytime. Rylan Clarke Neal will host.
 

Jonathan Ross is back with his eponymous chat show.  With guests last season ranging from Edward Norton to Sir Trevor McDonald, the king of the sofa returns with more top name interviewees.  And Jonathan will also host a brand new late night comedy show called Jonathan Ross’s Comedy Club (Hot Sauce Productions).  With comedy venues around the country currently closed, the programme aims to recreate the vibe and atmosphere of a comedy club showcasing the very best and freshest new talent.
 

Britain’s Got Talent (Thames, part of Fremantle/Syco Production) will resume production with a one off catch up show before heading into the BGT semi final shows that were postponed in the spring.  These will run weekly on a Saturday night during the autumn.  And The Voice UK (ITV Studios) will also pick up where it left off with a catch up show and a semi final and a live final where once again superstar Coaches will.i.am, Meghan Trainor, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs search for the very best vocal talent.

I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here! (ITV Studios) returns in the autumn.  This marks the 20th series of the hit show and a one off documentary called I’m A Celebrity: A Jungle Story will celebrate all the very best moments of the show’s stellar 19 year history.
 

And 2020’s Soccer Aid (Soccer Aid Productions) will also take place during the autumn.  Again, postponed from June the celebrity match will play behind closed doors. Exciting plans are in place to mark Black History Month including three specially commissioned documentaries and a comedy panel show.  Meanwhile ITV2 also has some returning series and some brand new treats to ease viewers into the autumn. Some of the Love Islanders will look at their best bits in a three part special.
 

The Emily Atack Show (Monkey) will combine Emily’s stand up routines and specially filmed sketches; and there will be a brand new series called Celebrity Karaoke Club (Monkey) which sees well known faces perform their all time favourite karaoke tracks.
 

Don’t Hate The Playaz (Monkey) returns for a third series, Hey Tracey (Dr Pluto) returns with Joel Dommett and Keith Lemon is back with a new series of Celebrity Juice and Shopping With Keith Lemon (Thames, part of Fremantle).
 

ITVBe sees a return to Essex as The Only Way Is Essex (Lime Pictures) is back bigger and better than ever.  The legendary series will return to twice a week and also celebrates its 10th birthday with a special reunion show as well as ten special programmes each of which will look at a year of the programme’s history which will be premiered on ITV Hub.
 

Love Island and TOWIE star Olivia Attwood will star in Olivia Meets Her Match (ITV Studios), Gemma Collins returns with Diva Forever (Lime Pictures) and The Real Housewives of Cheshire (Monkey) will star in a new series.

We’re very pleased to announce that Coronation Street and Emmerdale will resume airing the normal pattern of six episodes each week from mid-September.  This is testament to the incredible work that has been achieved in Manchester and Leeds by John Whiston, Managing Director of Continuing Drama and Head of ITV in the North for ITV Studios, and his dedicated and hard-working production teams, crews, writers and actors.  Both shows continue to film safely whilst adhering to the health and safety guidelines issued by the film and TV industry.

ITV has new drama titles launching this autumn including The Singapore Grip adapted from Booker Prize winner JG Farrell’s satirical novel by Oscar winning screenwriter and playwright, Sir Christopher Hampton, and produced by Mammoth Screen, an ITV Studios company.  
 

A satirical drama set during World War II, The Singapore Grip, is an epic story of a British family living in Singapore in 1941 at the time of the Japanese invasion. Luke Treadaway plays the reluctant hero, whilst David Morrissey is the ruthless rubber merchant who tries to manipulate his future.  Charles Dance also stars as Morrissey’s business partner alongside Jane Horrocks, Colm Meaney, Georgia Blizzard, and Elizabeth Tan, as a beautiful and intriguing Chinese refugee.  The series is produced by Farah Abushwesha with executive producers Damien Timmer, Karen Thrussell and Christopher Hampton. Tom Vaughan directed each of the six episodes. 
 

David Tennant takes the lead role in new true crime drama, Des focusing on one of the most infamous criminal cases in UK history. Referred to as the ‘kindly killer’, Dennis Nilsen was a local civil servant who spent five years murdering boys and young men from 1978 to 1983. He would meet and befriend these men before offering food or lodgings for the evening back at his North London flat. Daniel Mays plays the detective, DCI Peter Jay, who brought Nilsen to justice, with Justin Watkins as writer and Nilsen’s biographer, Brian Masters.  The three part drama is co-created and written by Luke Neal and directed and co-created by Lewis Arnold.
 

Two part factual drama, Honour, starring Keeley Hawes is written by Gwyneth Hughes and directed by Richard Laxton.  Keeley plays the real-life detective, DCI Caroline Goode, who brought five killers to justice in the heartbreaking true story of Banaz Mahmod, the young Londoner murdered for falling in love with the wrong man. Produced by Hera Pictures in association with Buddy Club, Honour tells the powerful story of Detective Chief Inspector Caroline Goode’s passionate search to discover the fate of missing 20-year old Banaz. Richard Laxton directed both episodes and Alliea Nazar produced. Liza Marshall, Gwyneth Hughes, Peter Kosminsky and Keeley Hawes executive produce.
 

ITV also features The Sister, a four part drama starring Russell Tovey, Bertie Carvel and Amrita Acharia from Euston Films. An unwelcome face from the past, Bob, (played by Bertie Carvel) appears with terrifying news that threatens to tear Nathan’s (Russell Tovey) world apart.  And Nathan has his own secrets now. Secrets that could destroy everything he has desperately fought to build for himself and his family.

The series is written by Luther creator Neil Cross and is inspired by his novel Burial. Executive Producers are Kate Harwood and Noemi Spanos on behalf of Euston Films and Neil Cross. The series is directed by Niall MacCormick and produced by Jonathan Curling.

This autumn will see Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women start a new season of live and unmissable programming each weekday morning. 

New for afternoons alongside brand new series of Judge Rinder, Tipping Point and The Chase is a new quiz show, Winning Combination, presented by actor and comedian Omid Djalili. 

And new for weekends; Alan Titchmarch will celebrate all that is great about the British countryside, art, crafts, manufacturing and produce in Love Your Weekend; Ranvir Singh and Alex Beresford will be travelling All Around Britain celebrating life and culture in towns, cities and rural communities; and Ainsley Harriott will be back on ITV preparing and creating The Food We Love -  his latest cookery series. 

These brand new weekend shows join new returning series of James Martin’s Saturday Morning and John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.

Within Factual, the autumn begins with a number of new and compelling pieces.
 

A deeply personal film sees Sheridan Smith tell of her mental health struggles and her fears before and after her pregnancy in Sheridan Smith: Becoming Mum (True Vision). A special new film, (working title) Prince William (Oxford Films) sees our future king embark on a mission to champion global action on conservation and climate change and celebrates the pioneering work of local heroes.
 

John Bishop’s Great Whale Rescue (Plimsoll Productions) is an epic adventure to rescue two beluga whales from China and set them free in safe waters in Iceland. John is incredibly passionate about the whales: he swims with them, helps train and coach them and aids the huge effort to lift them into slings and crates and onto planes to take them away. They are thwarted at every turn by logistics, weather, accidents and the whales suffering poor health. 
 

In Flying For Britain With David Jason (MultiStory Media) national treasure David Jason meets the RAF team who fly and maintain the country's historic aircraft of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.  David, a qualified helicopter pilot and aircraft enthusiast, takes to the skies and flies alongside veteran Battle of Britain Hurricanes and Spitfires, learning more about the history of these incredible aircraft and the brave air crew who flew them. Brand new series offer immersive experiences both at home and abroad.
 

We have a sumptuous four part series on The Savoy (Studio Ramsay) as it opens its magnificent doors to give viewers behind the scenes access to this iconic luxury hotel. London Zoo: An Extraordinary Year has exclusive access to ZSL and its sister site in Whipsnade as its inhabitants - more than 700 species including both creatures and their keepers - cope during lockdown and prepare for reopening when it faces financial pressure with limited visitors.

And, in new, six-parter, South Africa With Gregg Wallace (Tin Can Island) our culinary expert sets off to explore South Africa’s most iconic and best loved landscapes and experiences - along with its glorious food.
 

Hard hitting brands Crime & Punishment and Exposure return with new films.

In Crime & Punishment, The Real ‘Des’: The Dennis Nilsen Story (Multistory Media) a companion film to our new drama series explores the personality of the notorious serial killer, featuring insight from experts in his case, new material and previously unseen archive, interviews with victims' families and footage from an astonishing and infamous interview Nilsen gave to ITV at Albany Prison in 1992.
 

In Crime & Punishment’s other new film, West & Hindley: The Untold Story [Blink Films], Trevor McDonald offers new insight into Britain’s two most infamous female criminals. With exclusive interviewees and previously unseen material, he sheds new light on their life in prison and how they formed a relationship. 
 

The award-winning Exposure Current Affairs strand returns with In Cold Blood, (Darlow Smithson) examining the biggest  treatment disaster in NHS history.  Directed by Grierson winning documentary maker Marcus Plowright, and with access to previously unpublished documents, the film investigates claims that thousands of British haemophiliacs were infected and died from HIV and Hepatitis C after being prescribed tainted blood products by the NHS, that warnings were systematically ignored and that the story was subsequently covered up. 
 

Following the host’s acclaimed role in offering advice to viewers throughout the lockdown period, The Martin Lewis Money Show (Multistory Media) returns this autumn. With the help of Angellica Bellfor, the new series and hour-long live special will see ITV’s financial guru try to save viewers thousands of pounds in these challenging times.
