• ‘Boost Day’ advertising drive launches to encourage people to get their top-up jab across all major TV channels

  • The multimedia campaign features new TV advertising and supporting OOH creative going live from Friday 2nd December and UK’s leading brands such as Uber will join forces to back the latest drive

A new advertising blitz encouraging eligible people to get their booster vaccine has launched today, on the anniversary of the UK approving the first COVID-19 vaccine in the world.

The major one off ‘Boost Day’ event will see a series of adverts on major TV and radio stations with advertising asking people to “Get vaccinated. Get boosted. Get protected. And look forward to enjoying the festivities”. The TV campaign also features a collaboration between ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5 / Sky Media, supported by a radio campaign with Bauer Media.

There are partnerships with leading brands, including Uber, RED Driving School and Neighbourhood Watch, to encourage people to get their top-up jabs to protect themselves and their loved ones ahead of Christmas.

To support the vaccination programme, RED Driving Schools, Rethink Mental Illness, and Neighbourhood Watch will also change their logos to include the ‘boost rings of protection’, included in the Government’s advertising.

A new government interactive tool has also launched within Google search and display campaigns to help make it easier to find vital information about the flu and COVID-19 vaccines - developed by Media.Monks.

I’m incredibly proud of our phenomenal COVID-19 vaccination programme - in less than a year we have administered more than 115 million doses in every corner of the UK, saving countless lives and giving us a weapon to fight back against this devastating virus.  The battle is not yet over and we are working around the clock to turbocharge the vaccination programme even further to maximise immunity following the emergence of the Omicron variant.  It is absolutely crucial everybody comes forward for their vaccines and booster jabs as soon as you are eligible so we can all enjoy Christmas safely with our families and continue to live without restrictions in the new year. Health and Social Care Secretary, Sajid Javid
