Climate Action Week
ITV is working with eBay, Polestar, Severn Trent and Nationwide as its commercial partners for Climate Action Week, which plans to put the environment front and centre for viewers from November 1st alongside the COP26 talks in Glasgow.
The new partnerships are part of ITV’s sustainable partnership brand ITV Home Planet, and see eBay becoming the first ever official sponsor of the channel’s Climate Action Week with brand new sponsorship idents promoting the brand’s environmental messaging encouraging the the UK to live sustainably by selling unwanted items and purchasing pre-loved as part of the circular economy. Through their platform they help millions of people to reduce, reuse, repair and recycle.
New Campaigns
In addition, Polestar and Severn Trent will be launching brand new campaigns on ITV during Climate Action Week. Polestar is launching their new ad, a 60’’ TV launch spot that will air during Joanna Lumley and The Human Swan and be introduced with a specially created Home Planet Proudly with bespoke voiceover.
Severn Trent is running a bespoke regional partnership across ITV Central featuring ITV Weatherman Des Coleman to inspire people to play their part in protecting water and caring for nature by making simple swaps to save water at home and get involved in planting trees, which helps to purify water and reduce the effects of climate change.
The final episode of Save Money: My Beautiful Green Home, funded by Nationwide, will also be broadcast as part of the week’s programming.
Planet V, ITV’s self service programmatic platform, has also launched a curated Climate Action Week product card, giving advertisers the unique opportunity to create and tailor their own campaigns around the entire week’s dedicated programming on ITV Hub. From November, ITV will also be including Climate Conscious audience segments to the Planet V targeting suite, catering for a growing number of brands seeking to target this growing audience mindset.

ITV will also be carrying sustainable led spot campaigns in airtime throughout the week.
The channel’s commercial work throughout ITV Climate Action Week complements its focus across on-screen programming with topical new commissions to coverage in ITV’s live daytime shows, news, current affairs, Daytime programming, Soaps and even quizzes.

ITV has a rigorous internal plan to, as a business, make significant progress on climate action. ITV has science-based targets to ensure the business meets its goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2030. These include a commitment by 2030 to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46.2% and Scope 3 by 28%, setting a target to be zero waste by 2030, aiming for a 100% sustainable supply chain, and 100% of staff being trained in Climate Action.
In addition, ITV requires all its produced and commissioned productions to be certified by albert - BAFTA’s environmental organisation focused on reducing the waste and carbon footprint of the TV and film production industry. ITV also helped create the DIMPACT measurement system to quantify and help reduce the impact of digital content distribution.
