ITV has revealed its autumn schedule featuring brand new drama, exciting entertainment shows, topical documentaries and a return to events.

• After a bumper summer dominated by The Euros - where the channel’s England semi-final coverage peaked at a massive 27.6 million viewers accompanied by record streams on the ITV hub -  and Love Island launching, which is reaching strong audiences and is the most watched series yet, on ITV Hub, the autumn season promises to have something for everyone and create talked about television. 

• Drama programming includes Stephen, a three part sequel to The Murder of Stephen Lawrence. Starring Hugh Quarshie, Sharlene Whyte and Steve Coogan, the series portrays events from 2006, thirteen years after Stephen’s death on the evening of 22 April 1993, from a racially motivated attack whilst waiting for a bus in Well Hall Road, Eltham.

• Martin Clunes returns in Manhunt where he reprises his role as the former London Metropolitan Police Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton. This brand new four-part drama, is the real-life story of the police pursuit of a notorious burglar and rapist, whose 17 year reign of terror left thousands of elderly people in South East London living in fear and is based on the diaries of Colin Sutton.

• Homeland writer and executive producer Patrick Harbinson has adapted The Tower for ITV. Starring Gemma Whelan, Emmett. J Scanlan, Tahirah Sharif and Jimmy Akimbola, the series is based on Kate London’s best-selling novel, Post Mortem.

• Angela Black is a Hitchcockian thriller that follows one woman as she risks everything she holds dear to fight back against the man who has suppressed and tormented her for most of her adult life. It stars Joanne Froggatt, Michiel Huisman and Samuel Adewunmi and is written by BAFTA-nominated and Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning producers and screenwriters Harry and Jack Williams.

• Anna Maxwell Martin and Rachael Stirling star in Hollington Drive and Ben Aldridge plays the lead in The Long Call alongside Pearl Mackie, Juliet Stevenson and Martin Shaw adapted from Ann Cleeve’s novel of the same title.

• The Larkins makes a much anticipated appearance on ITV. This brand new adaptation of H.E Bates’ novel The Darling Buds Of May stars Bradley Walsh, Joanna Scanlan, Sabrina Bartlett and Tok Stephen. The six part series is adapted by Simon Nye.   

• The drama shows no signs of letting up on Coronation Street this autumn as we head into a winter of discontent for many of Weatherfield’s residents.  Across the Pennines, the action doesn’t let up in Emmerdale as manipulative Meena continues to prove she’s capable of anything. 

Autumn means I’m A Celebrity as Ant and Dec return to host a brand new series.

• And new in Entertainment is a brand new series from Simon Cowell called Walk The Line, co-produced and co-developed by Syco Entertainment and Lifted Entertainment, part of ITV Studios and the team behind I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and Love Island. Gary Lineker presents a brand new exciting quiz show for autumn called Sitting On A Fortune, and Ian Wright has a brand new game show called Moneyball.

• Paul O’Grady has a new series called Paul O’Grady’s Saturday Line Up; and honouring everything that makes our animals so special, Dermot O’Leary and Joanna Paige host The Pet Show, a brand new series that has animals at its heart.  It features animals who have displayed incredible acts of heroism, those with awe inspiring talents and celebrity pets. This feelgood format will also offer insights, anecdotes and advice from the nation’s top animal experts.

• ITV is known as the home of events and this autumn is no different.  The NTA’s return, The Pride Of Britain Awards are back and Soccer Aid is back as England play The Rest of the World.  Plus new for this year, Sir Bradley Wiggins appears in Soccer Aid:  On Yer Bike, a one off that sees eight celebrities in two teams, England versus the World, go head to head over three cycling legs, all set in the gorgeous and dramatic backdrop of rural Yorkshire.

• Over on ITV2, is Buffering, a new series written by and starring Iain Stirling; and Ready To Mingle, a brand new dating show hosted by Katherine Ryan that sees 12 suitors compete for the affection of a single woman - and the chance to win a big money prize.  And there is a special drag edition of Karaoke Club.

• ITV2 also presents The Social Media Murders, a series of three films each featuring a shocking real crime involving young people.  Linking them all is the unsettling role social media played in bringing together the culprit and the victim.

• Black History Month features specially commissioned films from Charlene White, Ashley Banjo and will.i.am as well as the return of Sorry, I Didn’t Know hosted by Jimmy Akingbola with Chizzy Akudolu and Judi Love.

• Factual highlights include Fred and Rose West: Reopened, a fascinating documentary that presents dramatic new evidence that identifies possible victims, and leads the team to locations where Fred and Rose West might have buried more bodies.

• 9/11: Life Under Attack is a one-off documentary that revisits September 11, 2001 - the day that changed the history of the modern world when two airliners slammed into the World Trade Center in New York - to tell the personal stories of those who lived through the events and recorded them as never before.  Featuring previously unseen footage and images along with unheard audio from those involved, the programme pieces together the story of how the authorities reacted, coped and tried to regain some semblance of control over events.

• And the Killing of PC Harper:  A Wife’s Story ITV is a moving documentary fronted by Sir Trevor McDonald and features Lissie Harper, whose husband PC Andrew Harper was killed in a crime that sent shockwaves across the country, sharing in depth for the first time the story of her journey for justice.

• Autumn also sees Gordon, Gino and Fred Go Greek as well as Gino And Family’s Italian Adventure and Joanna Lumley And The Human Swan, Strictly The Real Full Monty and Undercover Big Boss where a new group of chief execs and company bosses set to swap their power suits for overalls and go in disguise to work on their very own shop floors, to see what really goes on behind closed doors.

• Bling is a new show hosted by Gok Wan that delves into the dazzling world of jewellery. The series explores the world of buying, selling and restoring jewellery and sees experts compete against each other to create and fix different types of eye-catching pieces and figurines. And Ainsley Harriot presents new series Ainsley’s Good Mood Food.

• Returning series for autumn include Vera, Endeavour, Grantchester, The Jonathan Ross Show, Beat The Chasers, The Chase, The Cube, The Emily Atack Show, Family Diaries, TOWIE and Ferne McCann and daytime favourites Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women.
