ITV has announced that Confused.com and Land Rover will sponsor the broadcaster’s exclusive Rugby World Cup coverage this autumn.

The brands will share equal sponsorship around ITV’s broadcast of the tournament in Japan, for which ITV has the sole UK rights.

ITV will provide live coverage of every single match throughout the six weeks of the tournament in Japan, with a line-out of legends from across the world of rugby providing the very best insight and analysis from the opening fixture on 20 September, through to the final on 2 November. Every match will be broadcast live on ITV and ITV4 as well as on the ITV Hub.

In addition to Land Rover and Confused.com's title sponsorship ITV are also taking a number of other packages to market with opportunities for brands around the broadcaster’s social and digital coverage of the tournament.

“It was a clear choice for us to sponsor such a momentous sporting event – one of the biggest sporting events on free to air TV in 2019. We know that excitement levels will be at an all-time high after a very tightly contested Six Nations earlier in the year, with audiences tuning in at every possible opportunity. With this in mind, our multi-platform partnership will help to drive maximum engagement across traditional, online and mobile channels.” Gareth George, Head of Media and Planning at Confused.com
“Land Rover has strong heritage in supporting rugby and we are proud to be a global partner in 2019. Our approach to sponsorship doesn’t just focus on the elite world-stage, but we also place much emphasis on grassroots Rugby; the smaller, local and regional clubs. This will be a major focus of Land Rover’s campaign together with ITV this autumn.” Anthony Bradbury, Marketing Director for Jaguar Land Rover UK
