NHS Clap From Our Carers

In an unprecedented TV moment, ITV broadcast a touching two-minute tribute direct from the doctors, nurses and care staff working on the frontline giving thanks to the nation for staying indoors and for all their support and love during these unprecedented times.

The tribute aired at 20:02 on Thursday 16th April, directly after the weekly Clap for Carers moment, and saw health workers from hospitals up and down the country remind us that its important to look after our mental wellbeing as well as our physical health during isolation. The health service heroes ask us to stay home but encourage us to keep talking to one another.

The powerful film ends with doctors and nurses clapping in unison – clapping their thanks back to the UK as we all come together to support each other.

The NHS Clap From Our Carers is part of the recently re-launched mental wellness initiative from ITV, Britain Get Talking, supported by charities MIND and YoungMinds. The campaign, developed by Uncommon Creative Studio, continues to encourage viewers to pick up the phone and share their messages of love and support across social media, using the hashtag #BritainGetTalking and tagging @itv.
