BRIT Awards First Live 'Shazamable' UK Programme

ITV Commercial and Shazam have announced that The BRIT Awards 2013 will be the first live Shazam-enabled programme in the UK. The ceremony will be broadcast on ITV on Wednesday 20th February between 8pm and 10.15pm.

As part of the live broadcast, ITV is offering viewers the chance to ‘Shazam’ the programme and have exclusive content delivered to their smartphone. When music fans use the Shazam App to tag the show during the broadcast, they will receive access to exclusive behind-the-scenes content of the guest presenters and acts featured in the ceremony, as well as links to engage directly on Twitter and Facebook.

Stephen Poole, Multiplatform Group Sales Controller at ITV said: “The BRIT Awards is such an iconic ceremony in the UK and we are very excited to offer viewers this added interactivity and the opportunity to engage deeper with our content.”

David Jones, EVP Marketing for Shazam said: “We are excited that our first live Shazam-enabled program in the UK is one of the biggest nights of the year for the music industry, the BRIT Awards. People who know and love us for music will now get to experience all the great features we now bring to television.”

For people who don't yet have the Shazam application on their smartphone, it is available for FREE on every major platform and can be found on iTunes App Store, Google play, Amazon App Store, AT&T’s AppCenter, Verizon VCast app store, Nokia Store, Windows Phone Marketplace, BlackBerry App World, and GetJar.
