ITV Partners With Brands To Create An Amazing World Cup Experience For Fans

As rain started to fall on the Copacabana the sun was blazing down in Manchester at the ITV Fever Pitch fan park. ITV Fever Pitch has been designed to bring the Brazilian atmosphere to ITV fans, so we can all enjoy a piece of the World Cup action.

Thousands of fans young and old descended on the Old Granada Studios to chill out on the beach, feel the sand between their toes, sample Brazilian chilli beef and caipirinha cocktails, soak up the rays and enjoy a stunning display of beach football before the big match.

Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars put their skills to the test with a little help from the England beach football team. The Street boys came out on top as they thrashed Emmerdale 3-0, sweating in the sun for the crowd’s entertainment.

Then it was time for the experts to show us how it was done, with the England beach football team taking on the Italians in a preview of Saturday’s big showdown in Brazil.

Spectacular bicycle kicks, superb volleys and a few dodgy sliding tackles on the sand had the crowd roaring. If you’re looking for omens, the Italians edged it after a brave display from the plucky England boys.

Cheerleaders, samba dancers and a South American band gave the crowd something else to cheer about on a glorious evening and the Brazilian chants grew louder as the kick off for the first game of the World Cup drew near.

There was some horror, some merriment and much pleasure from the Croatian fans in the crowd as Brazil scored an early own goal. But the strong Brazilian contingent found their voice as their team picked up the pace.

The crowd lapped up the controversy, skill and excitement of the first game and as the full moon rose, everyone headed off happily into the night. Apart from the Croatians, that is.

A World Cup fan experience will create opportunities for brands to tap into an excitable crowd – experiencing something new, they are more likely to be open to other new experiences. ITV has partnered with North West Brazilian restaurant chai Bem Brasil to offer fans the chance to try out Brazilian food. There is also a partnership with Sony who is using the opportunity to demonstrate their new waterproof Xperia smartphones and give fans the chance to win one.
As ITV looks to do more consumer experiences, will your brand be part of the action?
