ITV2 'Channel of the Year'

ITV had a fantastic night at the Broadcast Digital Awards last night with ITV2 bagging the biggest prize of the night - Channel of the Year following the success of shows such as The Big Reunion and TOWIE. The channel, aimed at a younger audience, also clinched the award in 2011.

New hit comedy Plebs, set in Ancient Rome, won the title of Best Scripted Programme. Plebs, made by Rise Films, which first aired in March on ITV2, achieved a consolidated audience of 1.7m for the opening episode and continued to perform well throughout the series.

ITV4 picked up the award for Best Content Partnership for GT Academy Boomerang and Grand Central.

And finally, the ITV News site scooped the title of Best App or Website for Channel, Strand or Genre. This was a new category this year and the ITV News site faced competition from the BBC Sports site, and Sky News for iPad.

The Awards are an annual celebration of multichannel television and digital content. Lisa Campbell, Editor of Broadcast said: "The work celebrated at these awards shows that whether it's online, mobile, games, apps or audio, we're seeing more innovation, creativity and excellence when it comes to both the execution of ideas and the understanding of target audiences.

"Huge congratulations to all the nominees and to the winners."
