"Compounding creativity is one of my favourite marketing superpowers.


But so few marketers keep their ideas alive for longer than a few months. A great exception is Mars.


“A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play” first launched in 1960 and ran for decades. System1 tested the original ad again for 'Living Room Legends' with ITV Media, and it still scores a 5.0-Star Rating. It's still brilliant and makes people feel.


The average ads scores 2.5 Stars, so this ad from the 60's performs TWICE as strongly even today.


Why? Mars stuck with it. They refreshed the execution (remember the monks in the 2008 Jump Around ad?) but never walked away from the line. Constantly compounding memories again and again.
