How they shop:

* They tend to mix and match between main shops and smaller shops rather than sticking to one
* On average, they spend £67.90 on their main grocery shop. Those with children spend £81.10

Would consider buying from a different store for events such as Christmas and birthdays

70% Agree location is key for choosing with grocery store to visit

40% Say price is the most influencing factor behind food and drink purchases

10% Have switched supermarkets recently, mainly for price reasons

How they eat and cook:

* Freshness is the most important thing when buying groceries. Free-range and low-fat products are also important
* They do not mind cooking and will typically prepare some, if not all, their meals from scratch
* Advertising was generally not perceived to be the cause of obesity in the UK, instead many cited parents’ lack of control
* As a way to help, some said ITV could show healthy eating in prominent shows
