BAFTA triumph for ITV Cymru Wales

Congratulations to ITV Cymru Wales whose Y Byd Ar Bedwar team won the award for best current affairs at last night's Welsh BAFTAs.

Y Byd Ar Bedwar (The World on Four) is ITV's long-running Welsh language current affairs programme on S4C. The winning edition was a powerful investigation into drug deaths on Anglesey.

Geraint Evans, Editor of Welsh Language Programmes, said: "The award is a tribute to a great team and recognition of ITV's contribution to Welsh langauge current affairs."

In the same category, Y Byd Ar Bedwar was also nominated for an edition on the disappearance of five-year old April Jones, while another edition was shortlisted for the Gwyn Alf Williams award.

The BAFTA Cymru awards, which celebrate film and television production in Wales, were held at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
